Sugar & Spice

Abby is now over three weeks old and we cannot believe how fast things change! Not only in terms of our lifestyle, but in terms of Abby's life as well. She is now "cooing" and starting to smile and it really just melts our hearts and makes those sleepless hours sooo worth it.
At her two week check up, she was in the 70th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. She is now over 9 pounds and gaining thoe adorable fat rolls quite nicely.
We are looking forward to our trip to Seattle for Thanksgiving and cannot wait to show off the little one. We will be very busy introducing Abby to friends and family all week long.

Abigail is here! Abigail Diane was born on 10-11-08 at 7:31 pm, weighing in at 8 pounds 13 ounces and measuring 22 inches long. She has been a wonderful baby and is sleeping very well for a one week old. Dallas and I are getting 4-5 hours of straight sleep every night and sometimes find ourselves waking her up to feed rather than the other way around-- I guess she has US trained huh?

My folks were here for the first week of Abigails life and helped out tremendously by watching the baby, waking for feedings and diaper changes and cleaning the house. They actually just left this morning and so far so good... We are learning how to play house quite nicely!

Dallas is working from home next week which will help out with the daily chores and taking care of the little one. We are hoping to get the baby on some sort of schedule soon so that we all can benefit from some structure. A-MEN!

Whoa... What?!?!

Ok, so I know it has been a long time since we posted anything to our blog... We have been really busy moving and preparing for baby Ford... (RECORD STOPS) Yep, we are having a baby in exactly one week from today's date- unless she comes sooner... We are having a little girl and her name will be Abigail Diane. We are anxiously awaiting her arrival and cannot wait to expand our love and family!

So many things are going on right now, it is almost head spinning! We are bummed to have missed out on our Michigan season tickets, but we will survive with the extended cable package we purchased- especially given that Michigan is not that good this year. I guess tailgating takes a back seat when you have a baby on the way.

We are also gearing up for the 2008 presidential election. Being here in Northern Virginia, about 25 minutes from DC you really feel a part of "it". We get to welcome a new member into our family and shortly thereafter, a new president.

Things change so fast!

Niagara Falls January 2008

This was our second time visiting the falls and the weather was COLD! It was below freezing, windy and snowing. A lot of our pictures did not turn out as we had hoped, as it was too foggy to get a real clear shot. Weather aside, we ended the night with a stay in Buffalo, NY where we ate at Frank and Teresa's Anchor Bar which happens to be the birth place of the almighty chicken buffalo wing. The wings were flying and the beer was flowing- needless to say we had a good time.

2008 Detroit Auto Show Charity Event

Dallas and I attended the charity event last night for the Detroit Auto Show. We were wined and dined and had an amazing time with fellow coworkers. Dallas' favorite car from this years show would have to be the Cadillac CTS coupe, whereas my favorite would have to be the Buick Riviera Coupe Concept.

Christmas 2007

Over our Christmas break we went to Seattle for 12 days. It was a great trip where we got to see our niece as well as the rest of Marian's family.

The Fords

Welcome to the first blog for Dallas and Marian Ford. We decided to create this blog to keep people updated with what exactly we have been up to.

Dallas and I are moving to Northern Virginia in May and figured that this is a good way to keep in touch with all of you!
